April is National Poetry Month

For Children & Teens

Hotwing Haikus
The New Orleans Public Library is teaming up with Big Class to write poetry and eat greasy treats! Come to one of our workshop and your poetry may be published and delivered on a pizza box on Pizza Poetry Day - Friday, April 21. The Pizza Poetry Project celebrates National Poetry Month and the power of youth voices by publishing poems from New Orleans’ writers ages 6 - 18. Working together with some of the best pizza joints in town, Big Class publishes poems of all kinds on pizza boxes for delivery and pick up on one day in April. The Pizza Poetry Project seeks to reveal a vibrant and supportive poetry community in New Orleans that celebrates youth writing and poetry in general.
