About the Workforce Development Series

Do you love your life professionally and personally? These workshops will provide the strategies and techniques to find the right job and career for you. Jessica Rareshide, from Rare Insight, LLC, is a Certified Personnel Consultant, (CPC) and Certified Staffing Professional, (CSP) whose speaking presentations have focused on career related topics to current business matters.

Bring Your Résumé Night
Martin Luther King Library on Thursday, January 25 at 5:30pm
Bring your résumé for Jessica to review and make recommendations on any changes to improve it. Ask your important résumé questions specific to your experience and targeted position. Bring two copies of your résumé for review.


A New Beginning: Reentering Society
Central City Library on Thursday, February 22 at 6pm
Have you been formerly incarcerated or in prison? You are entering the job market again but don’t know how to begin because you’ve been confined for several or many years. Attend and participate to learn the “how” of finding that employer and position that fits your unique skill set. Learn how to present yourself in the interview for a positive outcome. The first step is to take the "Professionally You" survey online, which takes about 12 minutes. Email jrareshide@mindspring.com to request the codes to access the survey. Put “Survey” in the subject line.


Best Practices for Résumé Writing

Discuss the details of résumé creation. Ask your questions about how to organize your experience to get the interview request. We will also share the latest trends in résumé formatting for the best presentation of your résumé. What do you do when your résumé isn’t getting interviews for you? It may not be your résumé.


Retire & Restart

Thinking about retiring but don’t know what to do about the uncertainty of what you are going to do every day? We will work through the emotional side of retiring and restarting what you would describe as your dream retirement. Spouses are encouraged to attend so you may work through the exercises designed to give more clarity about what your days will look like after saying goodbye to your employer.

Did you know that most candidates do not know how to tell an employer why they are the perfect candidate for the job? The interview is your opportunity to tell the employer why you fit the job. Get your specific questions answered about interviewing. This workshop also covers salary negotiation and other aspects of the job offer.
