Have a Spooktacular Halloween at the Library

Description

For Children

Not So Spooky Halloween
Main Library on Sunday, October 28 from 1:30pm - 3:30pm
Wear your costume and join us for a special story time at 1:30pm and activities starting at 2pm- Trick or treat in the Library, visit the slime lab, and play with spooky bubbles. Recommended for ages 10 & under.

Trick-or-Treat
Mid-City Library on Wednesday, October 31 from 4pm - 7pm
Stop by in your Halloween best, try to spook our staff, and get a treat bag. We will also have a "creepy craft" station set up in our Children's Room. For ages 0 - 12.

Halloween Story Time
Nix Library on Wednesday, October 31 from 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Trick or treat at the Library this Halloween. We will have an extra spooky Story Time with treats and a Halloween craft. Costumes encouraged.


For Teens

Teen Halloween Party
Algiers Regional Library on Friday, October 26 from 5pm - 7:30pm
Come to a spooky after-hours Halloween party at the Library, and dance a silent disco with the ghouls. Costumes encouraged.

Teen Tuesday: Spooky Silent Disco
Keller Library & Community Center on Tuesday, October 30 from 5pm - 6pm
Dance with your friends to spooky music no one else can hear. Halloween costumes encouraged. For ages 14 - 17.

Escape Central City Library
Central City Library on Wednesday, October 31 from 5:30pm - 6:45pm
Players will have one hour to solve a series of puzzles in order to escape an area with no apparent exit. Haunting provided, bring your own brains. Refreshments provided by Raising Cane’s and Slice Pizzeria.


For Children & Teens

Maker Monday
East New Orleans Regional Library on Mondays in October from 5pm - 6pm
Make cool stuff. Work on a different project, including crafts, food, and STEM activities. Make a Halloween-themed project every week in October. For ages 11-17.

Halloween Lock-In
Norman Mayer Library on Friday, October 19 from 5pm - 8pm
Visit the Library for an after-hours Halloween party featuring movies, crafts, and an escape room game.

Teen Lock In
East New Orleans Regional Library on Saturday, October 20 from 5pm - 8pm
An after-hours event for teens only. Hang out in the Library after we close and enjoy a silent disco, video games, slime, crafts, food, and Halloween fun. For ages 11 - 17.

Haunted Book Club
Keller Library & Community Center on Wednesday, October 31 from 4pm - 5pm
Bring a scary book you like and tell us why you like it. Comics and graphic novels count. For ages 11 - 17.

Spooktacular Halloween
Martin Luther King Library on Wednesday, October 31 from 4:30pm - 6pm
Join us if you dare for the Library's Annual Spooktacular Halloween Costume Party.

Adult Craft: Halloween Lamp

Make your own lighted decoration. All supplies provided.

Black Sci Fi Club: A Halloween Double Feature
Martin Luther King Library on Thursday, October 25 at 3:30pm
Black Sci Fi Club explores Black contributions to science fiction. This month, join us for a special spooky double feature. We will screen Tales from the Hood (1995) at 3:30pm and Candyman (1992) at 5:30pm. Movie snacks provided. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

A Haunting Evening with Jon Padgett
Latter Library on Saturday, October 27 from 7pm - 9pm
Get into the spirit of the season with an evening of nightmarish readings by Jon Padgett, author of the short horror collection The Secret of Ventriloquism. If you can brave an old mansion after dark on the weekend before Halloween, that is.

Boo!'ed Up
Nora Navra Library on Saturday, October 27 from 1pm - 3pm
Enjoy a Halloween costume party for all ages. Join us in your best get-ups for refreshments, a silent disco, a Story Time for the little ones, and more spooky-fun activities.

Family Halloween Party
East New Orleans Regional Library on Sunday, October 28 from 2pm - 3pm
Make and capture monsters, play games, and share snacks. Costumes welcome. Kids ages 2 - 12 can also participate in a scary laugh contest.

Halloween Bingo
Norman Mayer Library on Tuesday, October 30 from 6pm - 7pm
Put on your Halloween costume and join us for a spooky good time playing a special Halloween-version of BINGO for prizes. Halloween costumes are optional.
