Support Your Library
Since 1957, the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library has been contributing generously and providing vital volunteer service to partially fill the gap where city funding ends. Friends financially sponsor the Summer Reading Program, Children's Book Week, Adult programs, and creative writing workshops. Friends also purchase supplies and provide grants directly to each of the 15 library locations.
In addition to providing much-needed funding to the Library, Friends annually give 100,000 books to hospitals, shelters, prisons, schools, and other community partnering organizations.
Their main fundraising goals are accomplished through book sales and membership. There are many ways to participate and join the Friends in their mission to aid the libraries of New Orleans.
