The New Orleans Public Library is once again partnering with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide to provide in-person tax preparation assistance. This service is available to all, free of charge, but is designed with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low to moderate income.
From February 1 to April 11, 2022, Algiers Regional Library and Milton H. Latter Memorial Library will host AARP tax assistance. At Algiers, appointments are available on Mondays from 10am to 2pm. At Latter, appointments are available on Tuesdays from 10am to 1pm — with the exception of Mardi Gras Day. Registration is required for tax assistance at either location.

For additional tax assistance, the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program has operated for over 50 years. The IRS also manages the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program for taxpayers aged 60 and older. TCE specializes in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors.
If you need assistance preparing and filing your taxes, AARP is at the Library to help. Register for your appointment today.
