After more than a year of renovations, Nix Library is back open to the public. The construction included the addition of an accessible bathroom, a wheelchair lift, and automatic doors, bringing the 92-year-old building up to ADA standards.

The Museum of the Southern Jewish Experience is the Library’s newest Culture Pass partner, a program that gives cardholders free access to a variety of cultural institutions and attractions around New Orleans.

This summer, the Library hosted five teenage interns at five different locations. Throughout their month-long placement, the students learned how libraries work, what is needed to thrive in a professional setting, and how they can have an impact in their communities – all while getting paid.

To celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the City Archives at the New Orleans Public Library, staff created an exhibit to feature the contributions of nine City Agencies to the collections held at the City Archives. Each exhibit will show the historically significant, impactful, and interesting materials the agencies have transferred to the Archives.
